Come Cello brate! The Texas Cellos have joined the ranks of a beloved institution in Texan musical life. Its exceptional tonal and virtuosic qualities soon took concert audiences by storm, and now the Texas Cellos enjoy a remarkable following, selling out at every concert they have given.
Whether they’re playing classics from baroque to modern, jazz, tango, movie tunes, or avant-garde, listeners are invariably fascinated by the wide range of unique and intoxicating timbres that these cellos can produce, and their mixture of seriousness and humor, of depth and lightness, appeals to audiences of all ages.
Musicians from Fredericksburg Festival tours are noted not only for their joyous and thoroughly prepared performances but also for offering valuable touring experience to artists at the beginning of their careers. Each touring ensemble includes exceptional young professional musicians alongside seasoned artists in varied chamber music programs.
Each program is built around a work performed in a previous summer that Artistic Director Joseph Kuipers and his colleagues felt was exceptional and should be shared with a wider audience. The resulting ensembles offer audiences the chance to both discover masterworks and enjoy fresh interpretations of chamber music favorites.
